Sweet & Spicy BBQ Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 – 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, with liquid
- 1/2 cup Happy Knight Black Currant Wine
- 2 tablespoons sugar (brown or white)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (optional if you use stewed tomatoes with hot peppers added)
Preparation
- Place chicken wings into a large container suitable for marinating
- Combine all ingredients in a separate bowl, then add to chicken wings
- Marinade chicken wings in the refridgerator for a few hours before grilling
- Cook the chicken wings on a grill set to medium heat, coating the grill with olive oil first.
- Grill chicken wings for approximately 15 minutes or until the thickest part of the wings are no longer pink. Be sure to turn frequently to ensure even cooking.
- Serve hot from the grill
